HxGN LIVE Success 2015
EXCITEMENT FOR HEXAGON MINING VISION AT HXGN LIVE
TUCSON, Arizona, June 8 – Hexagon Mining is being praised for its contribution to HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s annual user conference in Las Vegas, which concluded June 4. Led by President Hélio Samora and his executive team, Hexagon Mining was warmly received for its vision of an integrated, life-of-mine solution. The LIVEmine approach of harnessing real-time technology to connect mine planning with mine operations and mine safety aroused particular interest.
“LIVEmine represents an impressive vision that very few companies seem capable of individually conceiving,” said Mining Journal Editor in Chief, Richard Roberts, who travelled from London to cover the event attended by more than 3,500 people. “The technology integration just around the corner sounds very exciting. The important integration of Hexagon businesses and technologies is producing more advanced mining offerings than we’ve seen, such as HxM Blast.”
HxM Blast was demonstrated to a steady stream of attendees in The Zone, HxGN LIVE’s technology expo that showcased more than 50,000 square feet of innovation. It was also central to presentations, TV panel discussions, and Samora’s keynote address.
“Hexagon’s a very powerful group,” said Rodriguez. “It’s an incredible organization - a lot can be learned from them.”
The message of integration and real-time monitoring also struck a chord with Ali Yaguas, FMS coordinator at Barrick Gold’s Pueblo Viejo mine in Dominican Republic.
“Compared side-by-side with other systems, we had good results with Jigsaw,” said Yaguas of Hexagon Mining’s Operations’ technology. “From that real-time monitoring, you can standardize your mine, which will allow you to standardize repetitive tasks, your future KPIs; it’ll allow you to establish what it is you want to achieve in your mine.”
Samora welcomed the feedback. “
Now the stage is set for a second HxGN LIVE conference in Hong Kong, Nov. 18-20, as well as MineQuest seminars in Perth (June 17-19), Swakopmund, Namibia (June 23-25), Hermosillo (July 15-17), Lima (July 20-22), and Santiago (July 22-24).
